MARCH CAMP OUT:   POSSUM CREEK METROPARK (MAR 23-25):  This camp out will be the first Troop 318 adventure for the newly “crossed over” Webelos.  Join them to make it a memorable introduction to our troop’s camp outs.

APRIL BACKPACKING: (APRIL 13 – 15):     This wilderness area is located close to the city of Bloomington, Indiana. Lake Monroe forms the northern boundary. It covers approximately 13,000 acres. The area boasts flat-topped ridges, geode-laden streambeds, and occasional caves. Squirrels, deer, and other game are plentiful. The entire area now known as the "Deam" was once inhabited by white settlers. Most of the trails follow old roadbeds, and a bit of exploration off the main trails will bring you past shadows of the past, including house foundations, domestic plants, old fences, and the occasional cemetery (five cemeteries exist within the wilderness boundary).   This backpacking trip is considered moderate to rugged and will be approximately 20 miles in length.  You must have previously completed a backpacking qualifier to attend.  Contact Mr. Hundt or Mr. Schirack to schedule a qualifier if you need one.

MAY CAMPOUT:   (MAY 11-13):  Think fishing…more to come later…

HIGH ADVENTURE 2007:  (APPLACHIAN TRAIL – JUNE 19 – 24)  Four days, three states, Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia..count on hiking 40 miles.  You must complete a strenuous qualifier..2 trips around Germantown on a Saturday..then return to Germantown Sunday (the following day) and complete an additional 2 trips around the trail.  That’s six hours of hiking on Saturday and another 6 hours of hiking on Sunday.  Check your schedule late May or early June schedule for times you’d be available to complete these hikes.  Specific times/dates will be announced later.  Contact Mr. Schirack for additional details.
